Bentley on ice

Bentley on ice is one of those auto producers’ events meant to teach you how to keep your car on the road. It is some sort of social responsability program, so to say: once the cars  you sell have the HP over hundreds, it is advised to also think about your clients’ safety, even for the cynical retention reasons. In the end, your interest is to keep them alive, to come back anothe time and buy another car.

What actually happens at these events? Well, actually, you take a few drivers (Juha Kankunnen, in this case), and they do a track in Finland or other countries blessed with eternal snow and they go for a stroll, in controlled four-wheel slippage. Besides being fun, the snow is the best surface to learn how your car behaves: slippery enough to be able to play with it at a safe speed and sufficiently adherent to have control over the direction, if you make the right commands.

Of course, Bentley is not the only one who makes these kind of road trips, on its clients expenses. Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, Audi or BWM also have these driving programs. You just have to have a couple of thousand Euros ready, pick the car and contact the importer.
